Happy Birthday Marilyn!

On June 1, 1936 a star was born. A star that was in dire need of attention and a family that could guide her in the right direction; a direction that lead toward the light of a bright future. Independence was key in the life of a young woman who depended on no one but herself. Growing up, feeling desolate and vulnerable allowed this star to shine her own light and take her inner demons and transform them in to angels that guided her in the direction toward stardom. Struggling with both her inner self and those on the outside was difficult for a young, beautiful and talented girl, but she wanted to become someone regardless of her background. She wanted to take the criticism and the hate that surrounded her and use that as her mold for self perfection. She was never entirely satisfied with herself (as no artist ever really is), but as time moved on, she grew up into a worldly icon. She graced the covers of magazines and television screens around the world and growing up, I wanted to be her more than anything. Me along with everyone else. She inspired me in many ways to take my talents (like she did) and just RUN with them! Run into a field of opportunities and passions and spread my love for them all around me like some sort of garden. She dreamed a thousand dreams, but she wanted them more than anyone else. Just like me.

Today is what would have been Marilyn Monroe's 85th birthday.
My idol, my love, my favorite woman... Happy Birthday Marilyn!
Hope you're celebrating wherever you are because baby, I am <3
